How Does NET Compare to Different Types of Therapy?

Neuro Emotional Technique is a tool to help improve various behavioral and physical conditions using a method of finding and resolving neurological imbalances related to the physiology of unresolved stress.

Simply stated, NET is a stress-reducing technique to help resolve stuck or unprocessed trauma or emotion.

As a naturopathic doctor who uses NET to treat people with many conditions that affect mental health like anxiety, chronic pain, depression, fatigue, low self-worth and confidence, PTSD, trauma, and so much more…I want to point out as always that we treat people, not symptoms. It’s also important that we point out that NET is NOT therapy.

Why would I choose NET instead of other treatments such as CBT, EMDR, neurofeedback, biofeedback, or counseling?

Neuro Emotional Technique is a safe and effective option to address the underlying cause of your symptoms for long term relief!

NET is fast and easy for patients of all ages, does not require any equipment, offers quick results, and does not require any recovery time after your treatment.

NET is great for people who feel stuck, and have been unable to figure out WHY they are struggling, or maybe don’t know HOW to access certain emotions.  It’s also a great option for people who don’t like talking about their feelings, trauma, or issues, or have had prior experiences feeling worse when bringing up past trauma in counseling or EMDR sessions.

Again, we want to reiterate that NET is NOT therapy.  It is a mind-body technique that incorporates the best of psychology, neurology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, applied kinesiology, and traditional medical science to identify emotional stress patterns in the body to help the mind and body heal at a rapid pace unprecedented in traditional counseling.

Therapists themselves have said that a session of NET can be the equivalent of 10 years of talk therapy as it’s accessing the subconscious mind to produce drastic and long-lasting results!  A 2017 study revealed that individuals with complex PTSD showed actual physiological differences in the brain in less than 4 sessions of NET.   The brain scans showed that PTSD was no longer affecting the individual thanks to NET helping to release and resolve stored trauma.

Does NET replace therapy?

Simply put, no, just as NET is not therapy and therapy is not NET.  Either can be done individually or in combination with one another without any negative consequences.  Various types of therapy can be a valuable option to help people gain self-awareness and have a place to verbalize and process emotions as they learn tools to help shift their perspective and behaviors.  NET can work in harmony with therapy to break free from feeling “stuck”, expedite the desired results, and ensure even longer lasting results than therapy alone, but is not considered a replacement to therapy.
