What is a Leaky Gut?
Leaky Gut
Intestinal hyperpermeability happens when we eat offending foods that impair the health of our digestive system. In other words, when we eat something our gut doesn't agree with when we have a leaky gut, more of that food escapes our gut than intended.
Our body is designed to have tight junctions that allow for nutrient exchange, yet when we have a "leaky gut", these junctions are in essence leaking larger particles into our bloodstream, which initiates an inflammatory reaction and sets us up for allergies, pain, fatigue, and auto-immune issues.
